Why Mass Tort Disbursements are Different
How Confido helps mass tort firms
Disburse from any bank
Most disbursement systems force you to move the money to a holding account or a bank they choose before you can pay anyone. Confido works with the trust account you already have, so funds go from your bank to your claimants.
Build custom workflows
Every mass tort is different, and your disbursement process should not have to bend to someone else's software. Connect Confido to your case management system through our API, or build the workflow yourself with our no-code tools. Upload a claimant list, route approvals to the right attorneys, and pay in bulk.
Send high-dollar payouts
Mass tort settlements move real money. Confido verifies each payee's name and contact information before funds move. Every disbursement records who drafted it, who approved it, who accessed it and when, so a seven-figure payment is as traceable as a $500 one.

CASE MANAGEMENT INTEGRATIONS
Connected to the systems your mass tort firm already runs on.
Confido plugs into the platforms mass tort firms use to manage claimants and settlements.
- Claimant record sync
- Payment status written back to the claimant record
- Bulk actions
- No manual reconciliation
SECURITY AND AUDIT TRAIL
Every payment accounted for, from draft to deposit.
Confido verifies each payee's name, phone and email before funds move, and only pays to a destination the payee has confirmed. Every disbursement keeps a full record of who drafted it, who approved it, who viewed it, and any errors along the way, so you can answer any question about any payment years after the settlement closes.
- Payee name, phone and email verified before funds move
- Log of who drafted, approved and accessed each payment
- Errors and corrections recorded, records kept 7+ years
- Approval steps added where your firm needs them
BULK DISBURSEMENTS
Upload a CSV. Pay every claimant.
You already have the list. Upload it to Confido, review the totals, and approve. Confido verifies each payee, sends the payments, and gives you an export that drops back into your case management or accounting system.
- Upload a CSV of claimants and amounts
- Integrate an e-signature step
- Send emails to claimants on disbursement approval
- Export results for your case and accounting systems

Upload a CSV of claimants and amounts, or sync the list from your case management system. Confido sends payments once an attorney signs off. Set up workflows so each claimant gets an email when their payment is on the way.
No. Confido works with the trust account you already have, at any bank. Funds stay in your IOLTA until an attorney approves the disbursement, then each payment is debited from your trust account one for one. Confido has no ability to debit your account without an approved disbursement.
By standard ACH, which is free to the claimant and arrives in about three banking days, or instantly to a debit card for a small fee the claimant sees up front. Claimants choose their payment method and confirm their own account details, so your staff never handles bank information. See this page for the latest payment methods: confidolegal.com/disbursements
Before funds move, Confido matches the payee name and verifies the claimant's phone or email. Money only goes to a destination the claimant has confirmed. You can add approval steps and restrict final approval to attorneys.
Every payment logs who drafted it, who approved it, who viewed it, the payee, amount, matter, and timestamps, along with any errors and corrections. Records are exportable and retained for more than seven years, and you keep access to your data even if you close your account.
Returned ACH payments go back to your trust account, typically within two days of the return notice. The error is recorded on the disbursement's audit trail so you can correct the details and resend without losing the history.
Confido connects to the case management and settlement systems mass tort firms already use, and offers an API and no-code tools for anything custom. See the integrations page for the current list.
Yes. Funds never leave your IOLTA until an attorney approves each payment, and every debit ties to a specific disbursement. Each payment carries a full audit trail of who drafted it, who approved it, who accessed it and any errors along the way, and the record is kept for more than seven years. Rules vary by state, so check our state-by-state disbursements guide and confirm with your bar. Your compliance team is welcome on the demo.
Yes. Any payee with a verified destination can be included, and each payment is tagged with its purpose so the audit trail separates claimant payouts from liens and expenses.
Most firms are live within days. You connect your existing trust account, set your approval rules, and upload your first claimant list.
