Confido Means Trust

Confido means trust in Latin. Trust is in our name because we take responsibility for the ethical movement of client funds into and out of trust (or IOLTA) accounts. Whether you are a managing partner, a legal tech developer or a law firm client, you need to know that transactions will be processed correctly and that the acceptance, transfer and disbursement of money will happen in an ethical way. We'll build trust with you through our actions, not just our words.

We Were Clients

We built Confido because we’ve been on the client side of legal bills. In previous roles, our founders reviewed and paid hundreds of law firm invoices. We experienced firsthand how unnecessary friction at the point of payment erodes trust. When payments are confusing or difficult, it’s a poor client experience and law firm financials suffer. We exist to remove friction where lawyers and clients transact.

Embedded by Design

We believe payments and financial services should be tailored to legal, easy to use and embedded directly into the primary platforms law firms rely on to run their firms. Legal tech developers deserve the best integration tools without needing to become experts in compliance, fraud prevention, underwriting, financial security and ethics rules around payments. We built Confido API-first for exactly this reason.

Core principles

Our core principles guide our decisions both big and small:

We believe in purpose over profit

We believe that each team member is an owner

We believe we thrive in a culture of mutual support

We believe in building for the long term

Open Positions

Head of Finance

Confido Legal is a fast-growing Series A fintech company building the financial infrastructure that powers the legal industry. We help legal technology companies and law firms embed payments and financial services directly into their products and workflows—unlocking growth for our partners and expanding access to the justice system.

By adding financial flexibility at the moment lawyers and clients transact, we increase revenue for law firms, improve payment outcomes, and generate more legal aid funding for programs nationwide.

We’re looking for a Head of Finance to become the senior owner of our financial engine—someone who can operate in the details, zoom out to strategy, and help guide Confido through its next phase of growth.

This role reports directly to our CEO and will work closely with the leadership team, board, investors, and partners.

Role Responsibilities
  • Own Confido’s financial engine end-to-end — including forecasting, modeling, reporting, cash flow management, and financial readiness for board, investors, and partners.
  • Build accurate, automated financial and partner reporting that improves partner performance, grows revenue, accelerates onboarding, and enables better decision-making across the company.
  • Manage revenue recognition, float, and disbursement operations across payment processors and banking partners to ensure reliability, liquidity, and customer trust.
  • Translate financial data into strategic insight by identifying risks, opportunities, and cost efficiencies, and clearly communicating implications to leadership, the board, and the broader team.
  • Design and continuously improve financial systems and workflows by leveraging automation, lightweight tooling, and “vibe coding” to scale processes as the business grows.

Success (6 Months In)
  • Our financial model is accurate, trusted, and actually used to guide decisions
  • Actuals and projections live in one place and reconcile cleanly
  • Partner reports are automated, accurate, and flexible, improving retention and payment volume
  • Revenue is consistently and predictably realized
  • You confidently handle questions from banks, lenders, and investors
  • The CEO and operations leadership review reports instead of building them
  • You’re proactively identifying opportunities, risks, and cost efficiencies—and communicating them clearly to the team and board
  • Primary KPI: Accurate, timely financial reporting and forecasting that leadership, partners, and investors trust.

Must-Haves
  • Exceptional ability to move between detail and strategy
  • Fast, intuitive command of numbers (mental math included)
  • Comfort with automation and “vibe coding” to streamline financial workflows
  • Strong alignment with our core principle: everyone is an owner
  • Clear communicator who can make financials resonate with non-finance teammates
  • Comfort automating workflows and building lightweight internal tools

Experience & Background
  • Experience in FP&A under a strong finance leader
  • Operated in an environment where understanding the entire business mattered
  • Some technical background (engineering, analytics, or hands-on automation)
  • Experience in SaaS and/or payments strongly preferred
  • Startup experience or demonstrated ability to build systems while scaling

This role is ideal for a high-potential finance leader ready to grow into a VP Finance.

Customer Support & Operations Specialist

Confido Legal is a fast-growing Series A fintech company building the financial infrastructure that powers the legal industry. We help legal technology companies and law firms embed payments and financial services directly into their products and workflows—unlocking growth for our partners and expanding access to the justice system.

By adding financial flexibility at the moment lawyers and clients transact, we increase revenue for law firms, improve payment outcomes, and generate more legal aid funding for programs nationwide.

We’re looking for a Customer Support & Operations Specialist to ensure Confido’s operations run smoothly and our clients are successful. The role is a blend of operational execution, technical troubleshooting, reporting support, and customer communication to remove friction for both internal teams and Confido customers. This role reports directly to our COO.

Role Responsibilities

Primary Duties

  • Deliver advanced operational support to customers via live chat, phone, and support tickets.
  • Support customers by tracing issues, reconciling data, and troubleshooting client setups.
  • Build, modify, and deliver custom reports for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., payment performance, bank fees vs. surcharges collected).
  • Diagnose and resolve data discrepancies (payment data, CRM, servicing & tech tickets, etc.).
  • Help improve and document standard operating procedures; identify automation opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new customers with Confido products.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and internal stakeholders to escalate issues and drive resolution.

Strategy & Design

  • Collaborate with the COO to refine operational workflows and tooling.
  • Propose solutions that improve operational quality and client outcomes.
  • Assist in mapping long-term automation and support enhancements.

Success (6 Months In)

  • Client satisfaction trends improve (NPS/support quality)
  • 90%+ of existing customers migrated to new payment processor
  • Custom report throughput improved and automated where possible
  • COO has regained significant bandwidth for strategic initiatives

Candidate Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Genuine drive to serve the customer and resolve problems proactively
  • Excellent communication skills — clear, professional, responsive
  • Proactive mindset with an ability to see around corners and anticipate issues
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — you’ll work where processes are evolving

Experience & Background

  •  2–4+ years in a customer support, operations, or analyst role
  • SQL or database query experience
  • Advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills
  • Ability to explain data issues to non-technical audiences
  • Implemented solutions using low-code automation tools (e.g. Zapier or Parabola)
  • Experience in SaaS, payments, fintech, or legal tech is a plus

Our Team

Joining Confido Legal means helping shape a growing team and developing leadership skills. We offer:

  • $75,000 – $90,000 starting base salary (stock options also awarded; not included in this figure)
  • Fully remote work with two onsite meetings per year
  • Open PTO
  • Fully paid medical, vision, and dental insurance for you and dependents

Security Engineer

Confido Legal is a fast-growing fintech platform that helps legal technology companies and law firms embed payments and finance features into their products and financial workflows.

By adding financial flexibility at the point where lawyers and clients transact, we increase the number of people who can access the justice system and expand the addressable market for our customers. Trust and security are foundational to that mission.

We are looking for a senior-level engineer to join our engineering team and take ownership of security at Confido Legal.

This is not a standalone security function. We’re looking for someone who has built and shipped real software and wants to stay deeply embedded in the engineering process—writing code, reviewing code, and helping shape architecture—while ensuring security is built into every stage of how we design, build, and operate our platform.

We’re a small team of highly skilled engineers who take on meaningful ownership across the system. Engineers at Confido often serve as domain leads (security, hiring and growth, underwriting) while continuing to contribute directly to the product. In this role, you’ll make decisions that have an outsized impact on how the company scales securely over time.

You’ll report to the CTO and will, to start, have no direct reports. You’ll work closely with a strong, security-minded engineering team and partner across product and customer-facing teams.

Role Responsibilities
  • Own Confido Legal’s security posture end-to-end, from strategy through hands-on execution
  • Serve as the engineering team’s point person for security while remaining an active contributor to product development
  • Ensure security is embedded into every stage of the product lifecycle, not layered on after the fact
  • Lead PCI DSS Level 1 and SOC 2 compliance, including building automation and processes that make ongoing compliance sustainable
  • Lead security incident response in collaboration with engineering and executive teams
  • Harden our AWS infrastructure and drive security findings toward a consistently clean state
  • Identify and remediate sensitive data issues, including encryption at rest where appropriate
  • Stay ahead of dependency vulnerabilities and software supply chain risks
  • Partner closely with engineering and product to implement practical security best practices
  • Participate in customer security and diligence conversations and help build trust with security-conscious buyers

Success (6 Months In)
  • PCI DSS Level 1 and SOC 2 certifications are maintained with streamlined, repeatable processes
  • Sensitive data is handled securely and consistently across the platform
  • Critical and high-severity vulnerabilities are rare, not routine
  • Infrastructure and dependency scans return clean results without ongoing fire drills
  • Security is a natural part of engineering discussions and design decisions
  • Customer security reviews feel routine, clear, and confidence-building
  • There is a clear, owned security roadmap aligned with the company’s growth
