In this special series focused on legal case management software, host Emery Wager explores various case management companies to help firms make informed decisions. In this episode, we welcome Kim Bennett back to the Financially Legal Podcast. Kim, the Cofounder of Fidu, shares insights into the innovative subscription legal services management platform that is reshaping the relationship between lawyers and clients.

Kim's Journey to Found Fidu

Early in her career, Kim grappled with the inconsistencies of hourly billing and even flat fees. Frustrated by the ebbs and flows of income, she embarked on a mission to find a better way to serve both clients and herself. This quest led her to launch her first subscription offering at K Bennett Law. Using this model, she realized consistent income and found she could take a proactive rather than a reactive approach to law. She was finally able to show up for her clients in the way that she wanted.

As her subscription practice grew, she searched for better tools to serve her clients, scale her impact and deliver consistent value. In that search, she connected with her eventual cofounder, Blaine Korte, and together they embarked on a journey to create a complete platform for helping law firms deliver subscription legal services.

Choosing Fidu

Fidu helps you manage the relationship with your subscription-based clients. It gives you tools to provide your clients access to self-service content, templates and other valuable assets. It also helps you productize your customized work, so you deliver more for your clients without working more hours.

Fidu excels in matter tracking, document management and subscription and flat fee billing. It integrates with case management tools and offers robust document automation and customization options. Time tracking is a no-go (ditch the billable hour is a Fidu mantra); the platform focuses on management and billing of subscriptions and flat fees. It's also important to note that Fidu handles the client lifecycle from engagement through the length of the relationship, however it is not a tool for engaging in marketing activities to prospective clients.

Fidu isn't just about the software. They have a ton of resources, like the Fidu Accelerator, to help lawyers ditch the billable hour and build a subscription-based practice. If you are looking to transform the attorney/client relationship and take a process-driven approach, reducing burnout and delivering scalable legal services, Fidu is the platform for you.
